Undressed Ashton/Rosemoor series Book 3 edition by Kristina Cook Romance eBooks

"Passionate and stunning...Cook has stripped the romance novel down to its glorious bare essentials...superb story, authentic characters, and profound passion...a novel perfect in its vulnerability. Undressed exposes Kristina Cook for what she is--an original storyteller with a talent that needs no dressing up!" --Romance Junkies
In the course of a day, Colin Rosemoor has managed to lose everything—his reputation, his standing in society, his club affiliation, and the affections of the woman he’d planned to marry. But when Colin enlists his friend, Hugh Ballard, to help him win back his lady—and his honor—a chance meeting with Hugh’s long-lost sister changes everything.
Brenna Maclachlan is perfectly satisfied living on the highland estate in Scotland where she was raised. She spends her days managing the manor, her nights gazing at the stars in her observatory. But when an English earl and his wife appear on her doorstep and convince her that she’s really their daughter, Brenna finds herself whisked off to London where she’s completely out of her element. While most of the ton finds Brenna’s independent streak and headstrong manner wholly unacceptable, Colin finds her refreshing…and irresistible.
With Colin’s sister Jane playing matchmaker, the pair find themselves drawn to one another, unable to resist their growing attraction. Will secrets, lies, and circumstances keep them apart, or will they find themselves undone by love?
Undressed Ashton/Rosemoor series Book 3 edition by Kristina Cook Romance eBooks
The only saving grace for this story is that it's romantic. The hero is spoiled and immature; the heroine is wispy-washy and the circumstances are ludicrous.Colin is ruined by claims that he was cheating at cards but instead of accepting help to clear his name he spitefully acts like spoiled adolescent and chooses to try to do it himself. Instead of proving he was framed he makes matters by becoming an alcoholic and losing at gambling until he's done in. Then he wallows in self-pity and eventually loses his temper with dire results Not a likable character! Brenna is sweet one scene and a fiery miss the next. She reasons for staying in England are too thin to be believable. The story hops from one disaster to the next and just when it appears to be resolving itself Brenna is trapped in an open tower in a driving rainstorm by a raging fire on the wooden stairs, but the rain can't put the fire out.

Undressed Ashton/Rosemoor series Book 3 edition by Kristina Cook Romance eBooks Reviews
Kristina cook is an excellent writer. I've enjoyed every book I've read. Right length and kept my attention the whole time. Characters are well developed. Loved it. I'm going to buy the next book and for me that's the best compliment. Fabulously done.
I don't write a comment on all the books I read but this one deserves a bow of recognition.
I highly recommend this novel to anyone that's likes a comfortable evening with a good book. I think even gentlemen would enjoy this one. It has a mystery, involved in
It along with love. Hope you enjoy it. I did.
I love the books to this series that I have read so far Unlaced, To Love a Scoundrel and this book...Undressed. Next it will be Unveiled. Can't wait. These are the first books by Kristina Cook that I have ever read and I don't intend on stopping here.
Donald and Ceilie Maclachlan wanted a son so they stole one from a family in London. On the journey back to Scotland, they discover that their son is actually a daughter. Twenty-six years later, a couple arrive at Brenna's home telling her that she is really their daughter. Lord and Lady Danville provide proof that they are indeed her real parents. Since the Maclachlan's are recently deceased, Brenna accompanies the Danvilles back to London.
Colin Rosemoor has been ruined. He has been accused of cheating at cards, but he was framed and is now being shunned by the ton and the Lady he was hoping to marry. Colin is at the home of his friend Hugh when he meets Brenna, Hugh's long lost twin sister. Although their meeting is brief, Colin is greatly intrigued by Brenna. Colin and Brenna discover that they have a lot in common, both of them are misunderstood and not accepted in society; Colin for the card scandal and Brenna for being a Scottish lass instead of an English lady.
Colin and Brenna are drawn to each other and they find themselves seeking each other's company and each encounter has their attraction growing. However, their relationship is thwarted time and again by either Lady and Lord Danville, Hugh, or Colin's need to protect Brenna from the ton's cruelty. Finding out who is behind Colin's ruin is just one obstacle in their way; Brenna needs to return to Scotland and Colin needs to free himself of some vices that could cost him Brenna's love. Once he realizes what Brenna means to him, Colin sets out to make things right and win back the woman he loves.
Undressed is a gratifying story with life-like characters and a stimulating plot. Colin is not the typical perfect hero; he has faults, but he learns from his mistakes, which I found endearing. Brenna is lovely, charming, and intelligent, just the kind of person I would want as a friend. Loaded with mystery, drama and romance, Undressed is a story I enjoyed reading and other historical romance lovers will too.

I am truly enjoying her writing - this is my second book, and I like it as much as the first (Unlaced). I like how Brenna sticks to her guns about who she is, like her admittance that her other family is still trying to do good for her, in spite of. Although I did wish that Colin is a bit more of a fighter than just giving up so easily (but then again, that's why the feisty Brenna is a good match ) )
This is book #2 of the series and Unveiled, Jane,s story is book #3. Undressed is every bit as good as Unlaced. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The only thing that would have made the story better is the villains were more evil in their scheming against Colin and Brenna. Definitely recommend reading the entire series.
Thank you for making up a truly fascinating tale with two characters I so enjoyed. You wove the story with such strong affection. I was glad that St. Clair had not caused further havoc with the couple.
If you ever decide to re-write this tale, please put in a scene where Brenna finds out that Colin put all of her dowry into a trust for her, and had not used any of it. And, I would have liked to have had Jenny's character developed as a friend to Brenna in Scotland
The only saving grace for this story is that it's romantic. The hero is spoiled and immature; the heroine is wispy-washy and the circumstances are ludicrous.
